Steve Davis
Steve Davis has been in ministry for almost 20 years, having served in Student Ministry for 15 years before moving to North Augusta in 2000. Steve and his wife, Cheryl, felt God's calling to plant a church for the unchurched in North Augusta, S.C., in the winter of 2004. TNC began with the vision of a few couples and was launched in August of 2004, at its current location, North Augusta High School.
Steve graduated from Olivet Nazarene University, Kankakee, IL and received his masters degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Steve and Cheryl have four children, Kayla, Austin, Christian and Cameron. Steve enjoys dating his wife, having fun with his kids, coaching baseball and basketball and cheering on the University of Illinois "Fighting Illini" basketball team.
Gene Jenningsgenej@truenorthchurch.comGene and his wife, Beth, are North Augusta natives. Gene is a graduate of USCA and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Before going into full-time ministry in 1986, he was a teacher and coach in North Augusta. Gene has served churches in Texas, Georgia and South Carolina. He has served as a missionary and speaker in many other states as well as Australia, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Tanzania. Gene has been on almost every continent in the world. He has also done some freelance writing and published one book. He has other book projects in the works.
Gene and Beth have one son, Cliff, and one daughter, Bailey. They have a Cairn Terrier named Deacon. Gene loves motorcycling, watching football, spending time on the boat at the lake, and reading a good book.
Jay Knottsjayk@truenorthchurch.comJay Knotts is the Campus Pastor for TrueNorth Church Columbia County. He and his wife Laura have a daughter named Carrington who was born in January 2007. Presbyterian College is where he received his undergraduate degree and the University of South Carolina is where he attended graduate school.
Jay has been preaching and speaking in churches and other organizations over the last sixteen years. He is also a licensed professional counselor who has served in this profession throughout the community in multiple settings. Over the last ten years, Jay has counseled in elementary and middle schools, as well as working with adults through a Christian counseling center. He is a former high school and college football player and coach.
Teaching, speaking, counseling, and encouraging are his key areas. No matter what age or setting, Jay is ready to share the grace, truth, and power of Christ. The opportunity to lead the Columbia County campus through the transformational love of Christ is truly a dream come true for him.

Kevin Bradfordkevinb@truenorthchurch.comKevin Bradford has been leading worship since 1997 in a variety of settings, from high school and college students to adults. Kevin has been with TrueNorth since the very beginning, leading worship in the early days with just his guitar.
Kevin is originally from Hagerstown, MD, though he has moved around a lot through the years due to his dad's job and later, his own. Kevin graduated from Belmont University in Nashville, TN, with a Bachelor's in Business Administration, emphasizing in marketing. Kevin and his beautiful wife, Laurie, have four children: Austin, Stephen, Zane and Ella. Kevin enjoys wrestling with his boys, going to movies with his wife, basketball, disc golf, and anything involving music and the arts.

Through a series of GOD events, Mike has been with TrueNorth from the start. His primary responsibility is establishing, inspiring and cultivating teams of volunteers who make TrueNorth a relaxed, rejuvenating and relevant experience for members and guests. The teams he builds are passionate about helping people connect with and serve others.
Mike came to know Christ at the age of 38, and found himself leading his first small group about four months later. He traded "How Ya Doin'" for "Hey Ya'll" moving from Atlantic City, NJ, to Edgefield, SC, in January 2003. Mike is married to his best friend (NinaMarie) and they have four beautiful children: Katrina, David and the twins, Christopher and Michele. Mike is a graduate of Piedmont Technical College and Southern Bible Institute and Seminary. Mike enjoys his pet lab Beau, shopping, baseball, football, coaching fastpitch softball, hanging out with his family, Roma Pizza and The Big Mo.

Nina is married to her life long friend, Mike. After knowing each other for 20 years, they were married in 2002. Mike and Nina have four children, Katrina, David and the “Twins,” Christopher and Michelle.
Nina is currently pursuing her degree in Early Childhood Education. Her passion is to guide children’s steps in the journey to loving God.
Nina enjoys spending quiet times with her husband, cuddling with her children, laughing and helping others.

She taught Pre-Algebra & Algebra in Columbia County schools for 5 years. She has been happily married for 6 years to a wonderful husband Dustin and has three beautiful children Carson 3, Abby 2, and Tristan 1 and is expecting her fourth in April. Hope has been an active part of KidzStuff since TrueNorth began and loves working with school-aged children.

Dianne Hammond is a graduate of North Augusta High School and the University of South Carolina. Dianne and her husband John are native North Augustans. They are the parents are three children, Lauren, Chris and Scott. Dianne enjoys spending time with her family and friends especially at the pool and lake. Dianne is an avid photographer and loves to cook.

Jessica McMeans currently serves as TrueNorth's Business Manager. Jessica completed her bachelors degree in economics at THE Ohio State University before moving to North Augusta in 2003. Jessica was previously employed in corporate finance and individual investments.
Jessica and her husband, Matt have two children. She enjoys spending time with her family, solving math problems and watching OSU football.

Walt Tanner has been working with students for the past seven years in various roles over South Carolina. His student ministry philosophy is that “Students are not the church of tomorrow, but the church of today.” Walt’s passion is seeing students walking closer to God today than yesterday.
Walt and his better half, Betsy Tanner, are both from Greenville, SC. They are excited about the news of their first child. They enjoy spending time with Bowden (lab) and Chloe (cat), and anything outdoors. Walt is a graduate of Clemson University and enjoys cheering on his Clemson Tigers! Walt is a Dr. Pepper fanatic and will always try to stick a corny joke or movie quote in any conversation.

A native of Nashville, TN, Chuck moved to North Augusta in 1982 while working for his father’s radio station group. He has been involved in Radio/Television production since 1994 and now serves as Production Director for TrueNorth Church. Chuck is married to his soulmate Deborah Buchanan Young since 1984. They have a daughter, Jessica who is married to Paul Minor and live in Dayton, OH.
