Our desire is to help parents in "Guiding your child's first steps in the journey to loving God."
This is how we do it:
- Teach less for more - Repeats one key truth (Bottom Line) all month long.
- Engage the five senses - Helps master the concept through creative activities.
- Teach with the end in mind - Helps a child by age five, to believe:
1. God Made Me
2. God Loves Me
3. Jesus Wants to be My Friend Forever
- Experience worship - Encourages children to talk to God any time, any place.
- Connect at home - Provides parents with ideas for conversation with their child at home.
We have a committed team of volunteers that enjoy playing with, teaching, and loving your child.
1) What is a VIP?
VIP stands for Volunteer in Preschool. A VIP is someone who loves children and has made a commitment to serve in Journeyland on a regular basis.
2) What does a VIP do?
Each class has dedicated volunteers that interact with your child on all levels. Whether it is through play, reading stories, or teaching about Jesus, every VIP gives their undivided attention and love to every child.
1) Who is Journeyland for?
All children from 6 weeks old to kindergarten.
2) When is Journeyland?
Journeyland is currently available during each of our services (9:30 AM and 11:11 AM).
3) Where is Journeyland?
We currently meet in the high school cafeteria. (Signs lead to the entrance.)
4) What happens in Journeyland?
Parents and children are made to feel at home by our Host Team. They will gather information about each of you that will help us better care for your child/children. Infants and Crawlers will be cared for in a loving environment where caregivers interact through play, reading, singing and cuddling.
Preschoolers:
- Each week is full of objects for kids to touch, wild and wiggly activities to get them moving, crafts they will love getting into, and real life situations they can relate to. Our goal is to help each child master one concept at a time by creatively repeating the Bottom Line in a way that it will stick.
- Each teaching session begins with activities to introduce kids to the day's topic and help them feel welcome and comfortable in their classroom. Next, preschoolers take part in a large group time that includes a Bible story and worship. We believe preschoolers are wired to worship! So each week we include a worship segment with suggested music to encourage preschoolers to openly express their love for who God is and to praise Him for all He has created. After large group, preschoolers take part in a variety of activities that will help them apply what they're learning. And finally, during small group time children will begin to understand that they can talk to God at any time and in any place. Kids will be encouraged to openly communicate with God in their own words while developing their ability to know and worship Him.
5) How do I know my child will be safe?
- We have a security policy that ensures the safety of your child through the use of pagers. You are assigned a pager and number at the time of check-in. A name tag will be placed on the back of your child with the pager number.
- At check out you must present your pager. We will match the number on the pager with the number on the name tag.
- Children may be picked up by Adults only.
- If you are needed during service we will page you. We ask that you return to the Journeyland area to pick up your child. There are many different reasons we may page you. It doesn't mean it is an emergency. It may just be that your little one is not comfortable and is in need of some TLC from their mommies and daddies.
- If your child has an allergy please notify our Host Team so that we may make special arrangement to accommodate your child. Safety is one of our top priorities.
